Who We Are
Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. was established in the Lynchburg, Virginia area in August 1989. Our initial professional consulting services included providing soil evaluation services to subdivision property developers and single lot owners. These services included conducting soil feasibility studies and septic system drainfield evaluations. At that time the company operated out of a basement with the only equipment consisting of a couple of hand augers and a personal computer.
In 1993, the owner of the company, David Beahm, became involved in providing consulting services for bulk petroleum aboveground storage tank facilities across the state of Virginia. These services included conducting site characterizations for petroleum releases and groundwater characterizations for bulk petroleum facilities storing greater than one million gallons of petroleum. Through this time, Mr. Beahm gained experience in working with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality’s Petroleum Program and the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund reimbursement program.
In 1996, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. diversified its services into providing consulting for underground storage tank (UST) facilities. These services included completing tank closure reports, petroleum release site characterizations; and, soil and groundwater remediation. Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. became heavily involved in completing and implementing Corrective Action Plans for petroleum release clean-ups and operated two mobile soil and groundwater remediation systems 24-hours per day 7-days a week. For several years, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. provided cathodic testing services for USTs as well as the installation of sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection systems.
Since approximately 2004, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. began providing residential underground heating oil tank removal and clean-up services throughout the Lynchburg and surrounding county area. This service has become a premier service of Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. and we take great pride in its success. Many homeowners throughout the area have greatly benefited from this service.
In the Spring of 2006, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. built an 8,750 square foot building at 12719 East Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike in Forest, Virginia and has claimed it as its full operation headquarters since that time. After 17-years of service, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. finally had a place to set up a sign on the front lawn and a place to call home.
Through the years, Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. has endured tough economic times and many changes have taken place over the years. However, through dedication to the highest quality of service and an attitude of, “treating your property as if it were our own” and “everybody is our neighbor”, has allowed our company to prosper. What We Do
Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. specializes in conducting soil and groundwater investigations for underground storage tank (UST) petroleum releases. These services apply to regulated underground storage tank (gas stations) tank closures, petroleum release site characterizations, corrective action plan preparation and implementation; and, soil, groundwater and petroleum vapor remediation. We coordinate all work through the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Petroleum Program and the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund reimbursement program.
Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. provides clean-up services for residential underground heating oil tank petroleum releases (leakage). This service includes performing tank leak checks, tank removal and site clean-up and property restoration. This service has been provided to hundreds of customers in the Lynchburg and surrounding county area and the customer did not pay us a penny. Central Virginia Soil Consulting, Inc. guarantees payment for this service through the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund. Again, our customers don’t pay us a penny for this service.
We also provide soil consulting services for septic drain field system design and soil feasibility studies. This is where we got our start and we plan to continue to provide this service.
